This documentary chronicles the passionate rise of supporters of FC Cincinnati.  See how this local soccer team was built from absolutely nothing to capture the hearts of every age in the city; from coffee shop meetings to record crowds of over 34,000.

Catching Excellence: Lombardi And Starr

In 2016, ink & image was again on the road, this time for several Wisconsin-based projects.

By focusing on the close professional relationship between legendary Coach Vince Lombardi and his quiet quarterback Bart Starr, we made a video unlike any others to celebrate the heyday of the Green Bay Packers.

And in the process, we had the good fortune to travel to Alabama to meet Starr and his family and interview both wife and son, bringing to history a critically personal perspective.

Before The League

Emmy Winner: Writer (2015)

Telly Winner, Bronze & People's (2016)

Before the League is ink & image's signature project, generating media attention and overwhelming audience viewership on cable sports networks across the United States.

Aware of Ohio's importance in shaping the sport of football, the client engaged ink & image to follow the story, track down sources and find visuals from an era before broadcast television.

The project demanded creativity--synthesizing over 70 hours of footage into distinct stories; ingenuity--tracking down rare and never-before seen photos and then staging two reenactments when existing visuals didn't suffice; and writing skills--calling forth important details to illuminate the story and creating the glue to weave them together in a coherent and engaging series.

A Century of Sports

Emmy Winner: Education Schools Special (2015)

The California Interscholastic Federation celebrated it's 100th anniversary by letting the athletes, coaches, educators, and sportswriters show how their experiences playing high school athletics shaped who they are today, and who they'll be in the future.  This project took us several times to California and it was a joy to soak up the warm weather while working with new, creative clients who allowed us to develop a series of engaging storylines to tell the history of the California Interscholastic Federation through individual athlete's experiences.  Returning in 2016 to California to accept a Pacific Northwest Emmy in the Education/Schools category was an additional honor we were thrilled to receive.

Wyoming City Schools

Whenever children are involved, there's an extra element of fun and surprise and this project was no exception.  Our plan was to put student voices at the center of the video to tell community members the best things about their school district.  And it worked.  The kids add charm and honesty and the district's strengths really shine through.
